Team

The dedicated team of educators working to transform lives.

Jay Proano began his journey with Vista Charter Middle School in 2015 as a sixth-grade English, History, and PLTW STEM teacher. During this time he had the pleasure of meeting many families and working with numerous students. He has also been fortunate to collaborate with many outstanding educators. Throughout his years as an educator, he has learned to appreciate the unique challenges each year brings. The process of teaching and adaptation has helped him grow as an educator. Over time, he realized that building relationships and establishing connections are among the things that should be most valued in education. It is through continued support, well after school, that he continues to find joy in hearing about former students getting accepted to college, passing a driver's test, publishing their first book, or starting their own families. Celebrating these achievements and knowing that he played a small role in them is what drives his passion in education.

Jay Proano's journey started at Whittier College, where he obtained his Masters in Education and continued to the University of Southern California, where he obtained his Administrative Credential. It is through these steps that he had the opportunity to transition into his new role as Principal of Vista Meridian Global Academy. He is eager to be working with a new team and new students, while building new relationships with the community that makes up Vista Meridian.
